about

"Rock And Roll Recordings... Volume One"

Jenny and I moved to Toronto in September of 2003.
One day the idea of doing a new album came up.
A roots rock album like the good old days
So I decided that it sounded like a good idea.
In mid September 2003, I flew out to Calgary and I recorded this album with a bunch of friends of mine.
Joel Stewart, Lorrie Matheson, Ross Watson and Dave Alcock.
We were in the studio for a week.
Absolutely zero pressure.
Loads of fun.
But in the back of my mind, I had a funny feeling that I wouldn’t be recording another album for a long time, if ever again.
Most of these songs were from the last batch of songs that I’d written while still living in Nashville.
This album is the one album that most people don’t even know was recorded let alone released.
Loads of killer songs.
By and large, live off the floor.
It’s a great record and a shame that it died on the vine the way it did. Someday when I’m drunk I’ll tell you the whole sordid story.
Until then...
Enjoy,
Mike Plume
